Read an email: dark view, quoted text and dates
Original colours or a dark view
Every email opens on the white page the sender wrote it on. That is the default, and it is how every email looks unless you change it.
To read ordinary typed emails in the same dark colours as the rest of TALISK_HQ, open Settings, the Email tab, and under Email Reading Theme choose Dark for plain emails. Choose Original colours (light) to go back. The choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to another computer and to your phone.
Only a plain email (no colours, tables or pictures of its own) can be shown dark. An email the sender designed (a newsletter, a receipt, a branded invoice) always keeps its white page, because its colours mean something.
On your phone, the same setting is under More, Email reading theme.
Under a plain email there is also a button that switches that one message either way. It reads Dark view when the message is on its white page and Show original colours when it is dark. It changes only the message you are reading and is not saved: the next email opens the way your setting says. On your phone the button sits under each open message.
Quoted text and signatures
When a reply carries the earlier conversation underneath it, TALISK_HQ folds that history away so you see the new part first. Click Show quoted text under the message to open it (tap it on your phone), and Hide quoted text to fold it again. Signatures fold away the same way.
TALISK_HQ only folds what comes after everything the sender wrote. If someone answered between your lines, the whole message shows. A message that is nothing but a forward or a quote is never folded to nothing.
Dates
Message dates name the month, for example Fri 2 Oct 2026, 3:45 PM, so there is never a question of whether 10/02 means October or February. In a conversation the year is left off for messages from this year.
