Print an email or view its original

Open this in Talisk HQ

Under each message in the reading pane there are two buttons: Print and View original.

Print

Click Print. You get the message on its own, with the subject, who it is from, who it went to, the date and the body. The rest of TALISK_HQ is not printed.

  • In a browser, your browser's print window opens. Choose to save it as a PDF there to keep a copy. Images TALISK_HQ is holding back for privacy stay off the paper until you click Load images.
  • In the desktop app, the system print panel opens with the message ready as a PDF. The desktop printout is text first: pictures fetched from the sender's server, and pictures attached inside the message, are not included, even after you load them. Print from a browser when you need the pictures on paper.

View original

Click View original to see the message exactly as your mailbox stores it: every header (who really sent it, which servers it passed through, the authentication results) and the raw body. This is useful when you want to check whether an email is genuine before you act on it.

  • Copy puts the whole source on your clipboard.
  • Download .eml saves the message as a file any email program can open.

TALISK_HQ reads the source from your mailbox (Gmail, Outlook or IMAP) when you ask, so it shows what the provider holds, not a copy TALISK_HQ made.

On your phone

Open the conversation, tap More, then View original. The source fills the screen, with the same Copy and Download .eml buttons; Close takes you back to the conversation. It shows the message you opened from the list. Print is not on the phone.

Good to know: Print and View original work on one message at a time. Print is on a computer only; View original is on a computer and on your phone. View original shows the message's full source as text and never runs or displays the sender's formatting. Talisk cannot show the source of a message that is no longer in your mailbox.
