Sign in on your desktop with your browser
The desktop app keeps its own sign-in, separate from your web browser, so your browser's saved password is not there. Sign in with your browser lets the browser you already use sign the app in for you.
On the app's sign-in screen, click Sign in with your browser. Your browser opens a TALISK_HQ page and the app shows a short code. If the browser is not signed in to TALISK_HQ, sign in there first, with your saved password as usual. The page then asks Sign in to the desktop app?, names the account, and shows a code. Check it matches the code in the app, then click Sign in to the app. The app signs in within a few seconds; you can close the browser tab.
If the codes do not match, or you did not start this, click This wasn't me. Nothing is signed in.
If the page says your browser and the app are reaching TALISK_HQ from different networks, a VPN or iCloud Private Relay is usually the reason. Sign in with your password in the app instead, using the form under the button.
If your account uses two-factor authentication, the app does not ask for a code again: the browser has already passed that check. If the browser has been signed in since before you turned two-factor on, the page asks you to sign out there and sign in again with your code first.
TALISK_HQ emails you every time the desktop app is signed in this way. If you get that email and it was not you, click its Sign out every device button, confirm on the page that opens, then change your password. The button works once, for a week, and anyone who clicks it only signs everyone out.
Settings › Account › Signed-in Devices lists the desktop sign-ins approved from your browser in the last 30 days, with when, on what kind of computer, and from which internet address.
