Log hours against a job
Track time against a job, tagged to the worker who did it, so you can bill it and see cost per worker:
Add workers (desktop): Go to Invoicing › Workers, type a name under Add Worker, and click Add. From here you can also Record payment to a worker and see their annual hours and pay.
Log hours (desktop): Open the job from Invoicing › Jobs, find the Time entries panel and click + Log hours. Pick the worker (leave it on Unassigned for your own time), set the date and hours, and save. The rate fills in from the job's default.
Log hours (mobile): On your phone, open Log hours (from the ⦿ Do hub or the Money area):
- Pick the job.
- Choose the Worker (leave it on Me / unassigned for your own time).
- Enter the date, Hours, and rate (it fills in from the job), tick Billable to the client if it is, and tap Save hours.
The line above the button names the set of books the hours are going into. If your phone cannot tell which that is, it says so and Save hours stays off: nothing is queued and nothing is lost. Open the books you want on More, then log the hours.
If you opened Log hours from a job, both Save hours and Cancel take you back to that job rather than to the Money screen.
Let the worker log their own: If you have a crew, you do not have to key in their timesheets at all. Send each worker their own hours link from Invoicing › Workers and they log against your open jobs from their phone. See Let a worker log their own hours.
However they arrive, the hours roll up per job and per worker, and billable hours flow into the job's next invoice. Once time has been billed, it's locked from editing, until the invoice it is on is cancelled or its draft deleted, which releases it.
One thing to know: TALISK_HQ asks for an hourly rate and will not save hours without one. Hours saved at a zero rate still show on the job, but they add nothing to its cost, which quietly understates what the job really took.
